Leveraged ETFs
Some of our strategies involve leveraged ETFs (2x and 3x). Leveraged ETFs carry additional risks:
- Daily rebalancing can cause returns to deviate significantly from the underlying index over longer periods
- Losses are amplified — a 2x leveraged ETF can lose twice as much as the underlying index
- Volatility decay can erode returns in choppy markets even if the underlying index is flat
- These products are designed for short-term trading and may not be suitable for long-term holding
